PRP For Skin

PRP For Skin

The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) facial, also known as the Vampire facial, involves extracting blood from your arm, dividing the platelets, and then inserting them into your skin via micro-needling.

The physician moves the needle pen over your face while spurting the platelets into the mini needle holes. The platelets supplied are high in growth hormone, and the micro-needling stimulates the skin to restore. The entire procedure helps in cell turnover. The treatment takes less time and gives a great lift to the face.

Blood platelets contain various Platelet-Derived Growth Factors (PDGF), which promote the health of skin, texture, and health. Whenever you get a cut or wound, it is the platelets that form the clot and stops the blood from oozing out. After that, it releases the growth factors that incite the regeneration of tissue required for healing.

PRP Facial Therapy

So How does PRP Facial Therapy work?

Platelet-Derived Growth hormones provide nourishment to the tissue, improve the blood circulation in the skin, and eliminate damaging metabolic waste. They help in stimulating skin cells to divide and increase the production of collagen protein and hyaluronic acid. This collagen production helps in correcting the signs of aging and wrinkles. Also, hyaluronic acid improves the skin tone and volume resulting in a more juvenile appearance.

It is not a surgical facelift treatment. Vampire facial in phoenix AZ is a natural procedure that helps to restore or enhance different areas. You can see a visible improvement in skin texture and tone. The results generally last for two years or longer. For the best results, we suggest three to six treatments, 4-6 weeks apart.

How is PRP facial rejuvenation treatment conducted?

Dr. Schwartz performs skin analysis and prescribes effective and affordable treatment. After cleansing the skin, specialists apply an anesthetic cream, and sometimes nerve blocks are also given. They take blood from your arm for processing. While treating the face, they apply PRP to the skin with a derma roller, and for the areas around the eyes and laugh lines, PRP injections are done. Both treatments need one session.

What areas can be treated with PRP?

The most popular areas are the face, neck, upper chest (décolletage), upper arms, and hands

Is the procedure painful?

Numbing cream is applied to the face 45 minutes before the procedure, making the treatment very comfortable. Most patients do not feel much sensation.

How long is the recovery time?

Typically, there is little to no downtime associated with the treatment. Some redness of the treated area may last a day after treatment. Minor bruising may occur but clears up in about a week and can be concealed with cosmetics. Normal activity can be resumed immediately, but your face should be protected from the sun.

How long is the treatment?

On the treatment day, the entire visit lasts about 2 hours. The actual procedure requires about 20 minutes.

Is it safe?

PRP treatment is extremely safe. Because PRP is produced from your own blood, there is no risk of an allergic reaction. In addition, PRP contains concentrated amount of white blood cells, your natural defenders against infections. As a result, infection is extremely rare with our PRP treatment.

Am I a good candidate for PRP?

Anyone who wants to take years off their appearance by reducing wrinkles or acne scarring is a good candidate for PRP. People with a history of shingles on the head, current skin infections, acne, lupus, porphyria, anesthetic allergies, cancer, chemotherapy, severe metabolic and systemic disorders, abnormal platelet function (i.e. blood disorders), and pregnant women should not do PRP treatments.

Is PRP therapy covered by insurance?

As PRP Skin Rejuvenation is a cosmetic procedure, it is not covered by health insurance.

How many treatments are needed?

Initially, 3 to 6 treatments 4-6 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results. Thereafter, maintenance treatments are recommended everyone to two years depending on skin type.
